The Mesquite Rotary Club presented scholarships to eight deserving graduating seniors on Tuesday, May 13 at the Linda Samples Technology Center.
The Mesquite Rotary Club hosted its annual Scholarship Awards Luncheon at their meeting on May 13th.  At the event, scholarship awards of $1,500 each were presented to graduating students from Mesquite High School, North Mesquite High School, West Mesquite High School, Poteet High School, John Horn High School, Vanguard High School, Sunnyvale High School, and Dallas Christian School. This investment by the club in the future of these deserving area scholars totaled $12,000.
 
Those receiving the $1,500 Rotary scholarships this year included Judah Winn of Dallas Christian School, Ella Feinglas of Sunnyvale High School, Grace Dodd of Mesquite High School, Cruz Angel Trejo of North Mesquite High School, Jazmin Chavez of West Mesquite High School, Rama-Maram Imad Madi of Poteet High School, and Marco Parra of John Horn High School.
           
The Mesquite Rotary Club scholarship committee for 2025 was chaired by Dr. Jennifer Hammett, and also included Dr. LaDonna Gulley, Toyia Pointer, Jennifer Salazar, Mike Garvey, and Raymond Rivas. In making the award decisions, the committee considered the students’ academic records, their involvement in school activities, their community service activities, and financial need.
